BREAST CANCER SCREENING RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Women age 40 and older should have an annual screening mammogram.

  • Screening mammograms should continue as long as in good health.

  • Monthly breast self exam and annual clinical breast exam are beneficial to early detection.

Tomosyntheis (3D) is used in digital mammography in order to screen the breast for cancer.

  • 3D mammography helps alleviate the possibility of abnormalities being obscured by breast tissue that is dense.

  • This allows for more accuracy along with greater confidence in diagnosis.

  • O'Sullivan Radiology has upgraded to the top of the line Siemens MAMMOMAT Revelation as of March 2019.

  • This state of the art technology produces high resolution images, which include  images of each breast across a 50 degree wide angle.

  • This increases depth resolution and tissue layer separation.

.

NEW SIEMENS MAMMOMAT REVELATION!

  • The only 50 degree wide-angle, tomosynthesis unit on the market! Allows an increase of 41.50% cancer detection rate for invasive cancer.
